Can You Color My Dress?

No, I do not offer custom; all gowns are pre-colored. For most my accessories, though, you can select from 20 ombre options.

Why?

When I started my business in 2016, all I did was custom. I encountered many issues I have now solved by offering pre-colored gowns instead. Here are a few examples

  • Risk - The process is scary; dresses can get ruined, and there is no turning back once the color is applied. Pre-colored gowns remove all the risk and allow you to see the finished product before committing.

  • Creativity - Now that I have the flexibility to color my gowns any way desired, I can make color decisions that best suit that gown's style and fabrics as well as be creative and inventive with experimental colorings. Water Lily, Moab, and Blue Sun are all perfect examples of this.

  • Quality - After working on gowns for years, I know which are good quality and will work well with my process. Choosing the proper “canvases” has benefited the durability and outcome of my work.

I could go on but you get the idea, doing things this way results in a better product. Switching from custom to pre-colored was the best decision I have ever made for my business and my own well-being.

My Recommendations

If you have a white dress,

First, consider adding colorful accessories such as a veil or detachable skirt! The ones I have here can be ordered in many different colors.

Secord, DIY! Here are a few low-risk ideas.

Use a service like Spoonflower to get fabric printed in ombre and add that to your gown.

Artsy? You can hand paint lace appliques and add them to your gown.

Tulle comes in many colors; add colorful tulle behind a lace layer. Tulle fabric in general is the most forgiving; a very light spray painting of the tulle layers in your dress can add just a touch of color. This method is slightly risky, be careful! Test first.
