Preview Upcoming Gowns

Nº1. PROLOGUE

Instead of stacks of canvases, I have racks of discontinued wedding gowns.

I work with small boutiques to help clear out gowns they can no longer order. I then wash, steam, repair, alter, dye, and paint each dress to transform it into an original one-off creation.

Here are some of the gowns I have collected and my visions for them, so you can see if your dream dress might soon hit the shop.

Sizes are listed as well ♥

BTW — I tend to go rogue; not all the gowns will survive, only the strongest. It’s cut-throat on who will keep my attention. I often start one and abandon it, then circle back when the light bulb flips on with the right solution. So these are kind of sort of in order and will change periodically. I’ll leave notes. — sorry I’m an *artist*, it’s part of the process.

Nº2. UPDATED 4/23/24

Progress Notes

I am actively developing veils and working on these gowns. I plan to try and squeeze three new veil options between each dress posting.

Effie — getting steamed, and the prep work is almost done. I’m going to do a Prism coloring with this one — light rainbows following along the horsehair hem.

F195 — might sneak up the list just because lace is easier to work with than Effie's tulle poof. I’m getting spooky vibes, so maybe we need to go dark—blues? Moody elevated corpse bride look, what do you think?

Hazel Lynette — quite the project. I’m nearly entirely hand-painting this one. It features lots of red and pink-toned florals on a green background with touches of purples and blues, topped with matching jewels. I’m about 40% done.

Patsy — I am still shocked I got my hands on a colorful dress. You know what we need to do, make it more colorful. She also is a 2 part; the lining totally comes out! This is a game changer for my work, so I feel like we have a full-color opportunity here. Maybe have her glow pastel shifts of color from behind the lace, I think I need to feel this one out as I go and just see what happens. Also might move her down the list since if she can be worn as two different gowns, then I feel like they both need to be addressed separately. I gotta give you two full works ~ a lovely set, might take a bit.

MJ650L — I am doing in the same colors as Moab but in a different style than usual. I’ve started by dying the back lightly and then adding handmade florals in deep marron with teal beaded leaves and stems. Most of my work is going on the top back of the dress, and I will only lightly be coloring the bottom.

Waverly — I have not started yet, but the vision is there. Inspired by this really unique color, I am going to have each layer fade into a teal to mimic a copper patina. The lace will get some added shine with either jewels or gold leaf. ~ side note: the bottom layer of this dress detaches! I’m obsessed.

Paloma — might sneak up the lineup because she's cute. I really love those leaves, so I have to paint them. Initially, I was thinking of a moody green and orange palette, but spring inspiration might change that plan. I'm open to ideas.

Justina — I was thinking about just doing bodice work for this one. I am really inspired by wildflowers. I have been saving and turning some of these little flowers into beads. I am picturing them on a bodice with painted leaves behind it. This dress might be the perfect blank canvas for something like that.
